Renowned Kathak maestro Dr. Manjiri Deo has contributed a lot to the dance culture in Thane born in Kolhapur, she started her education in Kathak from Pt. Badrinath Kulkarni. After getting married to Shreeram Deo in 1968, she came to Thane and learnt the intricacies of Kathak from the legendary Guru Dr. Asha Joglekar and late Padmashree Nataraj Gopikrishna.
